Toscana Rosso / Podere Casaccia
Literally this grape’s name means “Round leaf”. It is an ancient variety that delivers a potent tannic structure and plenty of strong dark red aromas, which was partially abandoned because of its rather delicate nature and lower yields. It was used in the traditional blend of grapes, including Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Malvasia Nera to make the great red wine named after its region of origin: Chianti.
Lucia and Roberto found these old vines and decided to revive them to make this rather unique red wine on its own. It is well-balanced, velvety and warm, rather tannic with good acidity.
A rare pearl! Only 400 bottles were produced in 2017.
