Fabio is a young, passionate wine lover, who works part-time at Le Pianelle with Cristiano Garella.
When he inherited his grandfather Feldo’s small vineyard, he saw the opportunity to do what he enjoys most, taking care of vineyards and making wine. He acquired a few small plots with old vines to form what is one of the smallest wineries in the Alto Piemonte, probably one of the smallest we have come across altogether, with only 1.2 hectares of land.
Overall, he makes around 2,000 bottles per year!
He relies on Garella’s advice to bring out the best in his crop, and we like it indeed.
This is a blend of Nebbiolo, Vespolina and Croatina, from Fabio’s grandfather Feldo’s vineyard. Very stimulating to the nose, with freshness, a certain dry fruitiness and rich minerals, Feldo is pleasant, drinkable, full of red fruit with a lean, but strong body and beautiful ruby robe. It is perfect for a celebration of Northern Italian food and joy of living!
This 100% Nebbiolo reveals the clay and volcanic sand in its soil from the first whiff, which promptly gives way to mild spice, freshly ground white pepper and the typical raspberry and cherry of Nebbiolo from these lands.
